ND Veteran’s Home Wagon Rides
The Red River Harness and Saddle Club provided wagon rides for the North Dakota Veteran’s Home residents and their families in Lisbon, N.D. on Sept. 14. The wagon rides were held in conjunction with the home’s Family Day which drew people from miles away. It was a beautiful day and the horses put smiles on faces young and old.

The wagon rides were sponsored by the Enderlin VFW Post 9050. Members of the Enderlin VFW Post, Duane and Lori Steedsman of Fargo, N.D., brought their team of Haflingers, Nevada and Chance, to pull the wagon. Polly Thorsness of Barnesville, Minn., provided the wheelchair accessible wagon. Kim Utke of Sheldon, N.D., gave kids rides with her pony QT. There were 10 Red River Harness and Saddle Club members helping with the rides.
The Red River Harness and Saddle Club is a family-oriented, equine driving and riding organization with members in and around the Red River Valley of Fargo, N.D. The members enjoy helping others learning to drive and spreading the “driving bug.” Driving equines is a great hobby as people find it harder to climb into the saddle.
